About the Artist He began drawing and painting as a child in western Montana under the tutelage of his artisan grandfather. Armed with an interdisciplinary doctorate with emphasis in systems design and training in drafting, his art has been described as unfettered serenity and symmetry. his current art is influenced by the teaching of stephen kilborn of Taos and the work of New Mexico artists John Axton, John nieto and the late H.J. Waldrum. His goal with each journey is to discover the simplicity and natural beauty of objects through complementary compositions and broad swatches of opaque tones and values. Each piece shown in the Gallery on this website was completed with charcoal, pastel and acrylic. He currently resides and paints in Sedona and Scottsdale, Arizona.
